Where is Swains Island?
It is about two hundred and fourteen miles to the north of Tutuila, the principal island of American Samoa. It is situated at eleven degrees, three minutes, of latitude south of the equator and at one hundred and seventy degrees, fifty five minutes, of longitude west of Greenwich, England.
